The upcoming Google Pixel 8a might give a tough competition to rivals like OnePlus 12R, Nothing Phone 2, and Galaxy S23 FE in the Indian market if the latest leaks about its price turn out to be true.
Last year in October, Google launched Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. Recently, there have been leaks about the Pixel 8a surfacing online from time to time. Rumors suggest it might be launched in May. Initially expected to be a mid-range handset, a new report indicates that the Pixel 8a could be pricier than the previous model, Pixel 7a, especially in the European Union. It's rumored to come with storage options of 128GB and 256GB. Additionally, Pixel 8a might be available in four colors. It's speculated to be powered by Google Tensor G3 SoC.
According to a report by Winfuture.de, the base variant of Pixel 8a with 128GB storage could start at EUR 570 (approximately Rs. 51,000), while the 256GB storage variant might be sold for around EUR 630 (approximately Rs. 56,000). If these leaks are true, it would mark a significant increase compared to the launch price of Pixel 7a, which was around EUR 499 (approximately Rs. 45,000).
Pixel 8a is rumored to launch in color options like Blue, Mint, Obsidian, and Porcelain, although not all finishes may be available for both storage variants.
Google launched Pixel 7a in India last year with a starting price of Rs. 43,999. Now, if the latest leaks about the Pixel 8a pricing are true, it could compete with rivals like OnePlus 12R, Nothing Phone 2, and Galaxy S23 FE in the Indian market.
It's speculated that Google might announce Pixel 8a during its I/O event in May. It's said to feature a 6.1-inch display with a 90Hz refresh rate and could run on Google's Tensor G3 SoC with 8GB of RAM. The handset might include a 5,000mAh battery with support for 27W wired fast charging. Leak also suggests its dimensions to be 152.1 x 72.6 x 8.9 mm.
