Bollywood sensation Anushka Sharma, renowned for her impactful roles in movies like NH10 and Sultan, is making a grand comeback with the biopic Chakda 'Xpress after a break from the silver screen since her appearance in Shah Rukh Khan's Zero in 2018.
On her 36th birthday today, May 1, 2024, Anushka reflects on her hiatus from films and sheds light on why she takes extended breaks between projects. In a candid interview, she shared her perspective, emphasizing the importance of rejuvenation and selecting the right scripts.
"It's challenging for many to understand the need for taking breaks for self-renewal. It's essential to allow oneself that time to recharge because a fresh perspective is crucial for making the right decisions. A balanced mind is key to navigating life's choices. While I've been away, I've been engrossed in reading scripts. I'm eagerly awaiting to sign onto a captivating project and dive back into filming, which is what I truly adore," she expressed to Filmfare.

Anushka also addressed the speculation surrounding her absence from the screen and her choices of films, stating, "I refrain from subtly discussing the movies I've declined. By principle, I don't engage in such talks. Consequently, it's assumed that I'm not working on projects. I've been in this industry for a decade now. I've attained a position where such assumptions hold no ground. Moreover, I deserve to enjoy the fruits of my labor. Having the liberty to turn down scripts is a privilege earned through hard work. I don't need to pack my schedule to validate my credibility as an actor."
Meanwhile, fans eagerly anticipate her return with Chakda 'Xpress, a biographical sports drama portraying the journey of Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami. Directed by Prosit Roy, the film promises to be an inspiring tale of perseverance. Anushka's portrayal in the lead, alongside talented co-stars like Renuka Shahane and Mahesh Thakur, is awaited with bated breath.
